frankfurt

Claudia, Michaela, and I met in Frankfurt to do some shopping and have lunch. It was yet another beautiful day. I recognized many buildings while driving into the city and later walking around.

One, however, was unfamiliar. The MyZeil Mall in the middle of the shopping street in Frankfurt was eye-catching. It just opened in the beginning of 2009; even Claudia had not been inside. We had to check it out and ride the huge escalator (largest in Europe) up to the top level. I really loved the architecture and modern shapes.

Later that night, Michaela invited me out with two of her medical school girlfriends to celebrate the passing of their Physics exam. We had drinks in a Vietnamese restaurant and later to Living, a popular night club in Frankfurt. Similar to last year, the club was very nicely decorated, but very very crowded as it hit peak hours. We really had nowhere to escape when it got too hot, even outside, and only had room enough to dance for about a total of 20 minutes. I guess the same is true in Germany; quality social time is impossible in a night club. Dancing and getting to meet Michaela's friends made for a really good time though.
Marcus just came home this morning and will be here all weekend. It should be a great last couple days and farewell to the Kroths before I head off to Potsdam.
