willkommen

Welcome to my study abroad blog! I plan to post frequently with pictures through until my departure in August. I hope you enjoy it!

I have just spent my first day in Deutschland and am currently in Werner and Claudia's home in Hanau. The time change was slightly difficult, but I am quite tired now at 1:30am and should be well-adjusted in the morning. (fingers crossed)

Claudia met me outside of customs this morning at the Frankfurt international airport. It is now the 3rd time I have arrived in this aiport to see a patiently waiting Claudia. After visiting at her home and having a snack, she helped me to exchange some money and make some purchases in Hanau, including a travel book for the Berlin area and a English-Deutsch dictionary.

Werner and Michaela met us at home for lunch - I took a much needed 4 hour nap - and then Werner and Claudia were kind enough to take me to Seligenstadt to walk around in the evening and have a lovely dinner on the river Main. Seligenstadt has a beautiful church and surrounding abby that was quite nice. In one part of the church grounds, we walked through a gate to find a white peacock with beautiful feathers in full display. Unfortunately, I forgot my camera (so I found the following of the Seligenstadt monestary online), but that won't happen again.

Tomorrow, we start speaking significantly more German. I better learn quick!
